One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Communications Officer on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Hybrid working role were, however, you will be required to attend the office 2/3 times a week.
Overview:
To support the Communications Manager to protect and improve the reputation of the council. Increase public satisfaction with the council and services through effective campaigns. Improve staff engagement levels in liaison with Communications Manager and the HR team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the public are both engaged in and well-informed about the council and its services by developing and implementing communication campaigns with colleagues across the council to promote and market council services; to evaluate the impact of these.
* Build strong relationships with service departments and work with colleagues across the council to identify innovation, best practice and positive messages to promote to the media and residents to build on the council's reputation.
* Assist the Communications Manager to develop the council's brand and ensure consistent branding across the authority.
* Maximise the council's use of social media to build and enhance the council's reputation and engagement with its residents and customers.
