Environmental Support & Enforcement Officer
Waste Investigations Support & Enforcement (WISE) is looking for a committed Environmental Enforcement Officer to patrol the city centre and outer boroughs on foot, identify environmental offences and issue Fixed Penalty Notices.
About the Role
Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council
Pay: £14 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including some weekends)
Day-to-day duties include: patrol busy areas on foot; challenge and issue FPNs; record activity accurately; educate the public; work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Patrol busy areas and outer boroughs on foot throughout your shift
* Challenge and issue FPNs to individuals committing offences such as littering, dog fouling and fly‑tipping
* Record activity accurately in reports and statements
* Educate the public on environmental responsibilities
* Work independently and as part of a supportive enforcement team
Qualifications
* Strong communication skills and professional presence
* Resilience and confidence when dealing with the public
* Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor patrols in all weather
* Reliable, proactive and detail‑focused
* Driving licence preferred (not essential)
