General Practice Call Handler | Brooklands Health Centre | Full-Time (40) or Part-Time Contract Can Be Considered

Based at Brooklands Health Centre in Milton Keynes, you’ll be part of a supportive and fast-paced environment where your communication skills and attention to detail will help ensure patients receive the care and guidance they need. Key Responsibilities:
1. Answer incoming patient telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
2. Handle a wide range of patient queries efficiently and sensitively
3. Book, amend, and cancel appointments using the EMIS system
4. Accurately navigate patients to the appropriate clinician or service (signposting)
5. Manage general administrative queries and provide support where required
6. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times
7. Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth service delivery
Person Specification:
Essential:
8. Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional telephone manner
9. Strong customer service skills with a patient focused approach
10. Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
11. Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure
12. Competent IT skills and attention to detail
13. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
14. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively signpost patients
Desirable:
15. Previous experience in a call handling, reception, or administrative role
16. Experience working within a GP practice or healthcare setting
17. Familiarity with EMIS and SystmOne
18. Understanding of services and patient pathways
