Main duties and responsibilities
1. Apply knowledge, skills, and experience in CAD engineering and design to provide robust and efficient CAD capabilities as part of the Technical and Design team at WGM.
2. Be an integral part of a high-performing team across Glasgow and Livingston offices, delivering high-quality, multi-disciplinary CAD design services to clients and internal functions.
3. Prepare suitable CAD drawings and designs to support project and operational functions, including technical input into projects across Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil CAD design work.
4. Ensure adherence to processes and procedures, maintaining CAD standards throughout the design phase in line with WGM’s Quality Standards and QMS.
5. Provide technical support, including site surveys if required, to develop designs or resolve design issues.
6. Be proficient with 2D/3D design packages such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Civil 3D, Navisworks, as appropriate for the project/client.
7. Understand BIM and work within a common data environment like Projectwise.
To be considered, candidates should have at least 2-3 years of experience in CAD or design, preferably within an engineering or construction environment. Extensive CAD knowledge and commercial awareness in your engineering specialty are essential. Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and contractors are also required.
