An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position requires overseeing credit activities, managing risk, developing credit policies, and leading the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have strong financial understanding,
* Be able to problem solve,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Possess excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, and assist in renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
* Manage cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications and provision of PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation and insolvency cases, pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Assess risks for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions,
* Visit customers and sites as needed.
