KPMG UK's Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG) is a team of approximately 400 professionals, recognized as a leading independent adviser in the infrastructure sector, with locations across the UK including London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, and Manchester.
IAG provides strategic, financial, regulatory, and commercial advice on infrastructure investments in the UK and internationally. The services range from strategic consulting for companies and investors to public sector project development, negotiations, and cross-sector advice including mergers, valuations, tax, and due diligence.
Social infrastructure is a key focus, covering real estate (healthcare, housing, education) and decentralised energy sectors, with an increasing emphasis on retrofitting and decarbonisation.
The team offers comprehensive services throughout infrastructure project lifecycles, including feasibility assessments, financial structuring, business case development, financing, procurement, and dispute resolution.
The business is expanding rapidly, seeking a high-caliber candidate to support current projects and business growth in Net Zero and Renewables sectors.
The Role
The Associate Director is a senior team member responsible for leading client engagements and business development, with potential progression to Director.
* Leading delivery of client projects daily;
* Building and maintaining client relationships;
* Providing financial and commercial advice;
* Managing internal and external project teams;
* Identifying client needs and proposing solutions;
* Producing high-quality documentation and presentations;
* Developing and reviewing financial models;
* Driving business development and propositions;
* Leading proposals and pitches;
* Building sector-specific intelligence and thought leadership;
* Leveraging industry networks for opportunities;
* Managing risks, compliance, and procedures;
* Mentoring junior team members;
* Performing other senior-related duties.
The Person
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold ACA, CFA, or equivalent qualifications;
* Have experience in client and market-facing roles;
* Have substantial experience with infrastructure projects, PPPs/PFIs, with private/public sector clients;
* Possess knowledge of renewable energy and emerging Net Zero assets;
* Understand financing structures, PPPs, project finance, and joint ventures;
* Have strong report writing and Microsoft Office skills;
* Be proficient in financial modelling and interpretation;
* Be comfortable presenting to stakeholders;
* Be an independent thinker and problem solver;
* Have a track record of opening and converting opportunities;
* Possess a strong sector network and brand;
* Have a proactive attitude and drive to succeed.
