As a Trust we deliver over 300 apprentices at any one time for our employees, enhancing there learning and development. This role is responsible for providing strategic operations, training and business leadership for HHFTs Apprenticeship provision including management of the £1 million levy investment; HHFT as in-house Training Provider of apprenticeships; facilitates placements through LDDA Assisted Internships programme (Project Choice); enabling it to support Hampshire Hospitals to deliver its vision: to provide outstanding care to all of our patients. Main duties of the job This post is responsible for, the delivery of the Trusts Apprenticeship Strategy and workforce plan through the development, design and delivery of high-quality in-house apprenticeships, to provide a range of career pathways to attract and retain our current and future workforce supply. Responsible for scanning the horizon for potential business opportunities, identifying potential areas of growth and development, and coordinating and preparing bids for new business. This will require sharp analytical and strategic financial skills, as well as strong links into the Divisions, clinical and corporate services. The post holder will use internal and external data sources to develop intelligence and to spot opportunities for future development, raising these through the Director of People and the Trust. The AD for Apprenticeships will be motivated to increase growth and enhance the Trusts reputation as both a training provider of outstanding services, and as an excellent partner. The post holder will foster and maintain close working relationships with the range of key commissioners, as well as key corporate and business functions in related Trusts or partnership organisations. Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential • Educated to 1st degree level or equivalent level of experience • Evidence of continuing professional development / leadership studies • Management qualification or equivalent level of experience Desirable • Project Management qualification or equivalent level of experience of delivering projects Experience Essential • Understanding of the relationship between external stakeholders, commissioning organisations, external regulatory health bodies • Experience on leading on strategy development and programme / project management • Experience of presenting to a wide range of audiences • Management of services in a large multi-disciplinary organisation, including budget management for a department or service • Evidence of delivering measurable outcomes in appropriate timescales Desirable • Experience as a manager within the NHS Knowledge and Skills Essential • Ability to influence and negotiate • Ability to manage a complex workload under pressure and to delegate appropriately to deliver tangible outcomes in appropriate timescales. • Advanced decision making and judgement Desirable • Experience working with the Apprenticeship agenda, the levy, ESFA rules and guidelines, Ofsted and awarding bodies • Understanding of national healthcare education agenda Other • Ability to travel across all three Hampshire Hospitals sites
