Overview
An experienced Mental Health Nurse is needed to help lead the development of our mental health strategy at Cambridge University Hospitals. This role will support clinical leadership and service transformation, enabling you to have a meaningful impact on patient care in an acute hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Integrate mental health expertise within acute care, delivering holistic, safe and compassionate support to patients.
* Support and advise staff in managing mental health challenges across varied clinical areas.
* Deliver education sessions and help shape CUH’s mental health education programme, enhancing staff confidence and knowledge in supporting patients with mental health difficulties.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary decision‑making regarding patient care.
* Promote and contribute to collaborative working with other departments, services and agencies, including external mental health services.
* Contribute to service developments in line with national policies and drivers, including the 10‑year plan promoting mental health care.
* Liaise with mental health providers to support transfers of care to appropriate care pathways.
* Participate in weekend support as required, with unsocial hours pay and optional weekend bank shifts available.
Eligibility & Requirements
Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full‑time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Applicants on a Student visa will only be eligible if they have:
* Applied for a Graduate visa, or
* Completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or
* Received a Skilled Worker sponsorship and will complete their studies within three months of the anticipated start date.
