Vacancy: Process Safety Practitioner

As the Process Safety Practitioner (EHS) you will form part of the existing EHS team to assist the EHS Manger on matters relating to Process Safety to within the PGMS Royston facilities. You will need to proactively participate within the EHS team offering solutions to many situations as they arise and actively promote and support a positive PSM culture.
Your purpose will be to ensure focus and delivery of relevant activities to drive programmatic process safety risk reduction, including implementation and verification of practices against the JM process safety policies to ensure compliance, participation in Hazop and other safety studies, generation and management of reporting metrics, incident investigation and training and education relating to Process Safety and other relevant EHS topics.
You will also liaise regularly and proactively with the site core Site Based Engineering team, PGMS Process Safety Leadership and JM Group Teams.

Your responsibilities:
* Support in promoting a positive process safety culture across local Site - through training programmes and identification of key competencies for sites.
* Support PGMS Business Strategic Capital Investment Programme from a Process Safety perspective where required.
* Shares learning, information, and best practices with other PGMS sites and with wider JM Group when applicable.
* Initiate, facilitate and support Management of Change (MoC) assessment processes Lead where appropriate incident investigations providing support and guidance for plant operations where necessary
* Develop, coordinate and deliver process safety and other training for JM staff and contractors in collaboration with the EHS and PSM teams.
* Participation in Hazop and other safety studies as and when required
Requirements for the role:
* Degree or higher (or equivalent) in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* Ability to distil complex situations into clear and simple summaries for presentation to non-subject-matter expert / senior leadership teams
* Demonstrable experience working in a process environment in a relevant role
* Knowledge/experience in COMAH and working in an upper tier COMAH site
* Experience of managing a significant change in an organisation
* Deliver Innovative & Practical Solutions balancing cost and risk and needs of the business
