We are currently looking to hire a Workplace Health & Safety Technician to join the team and play a critical role in supporting the Amazon Logistics Operational teams onsite. We are looking for an independent individual who can still be a team player with the current WHS team members.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, hands-on, customer-obsessed individual, passionate about safety and able to drive strategy to build an engaging, safe environment. They will identify, coordinate, and drive improvements in safety while engaging operational and support function stakeholders. The successful candidate will be flexible regarding travel and working hours, as the environment is fast-paced.
Key job responsibilities
1. Undertake risk assessments and proactively follow up on control measures until complete.
2. Complete daily audits and address safety callouts.
3. Analyze Sort Centre data and monitor Key Performance Indicators for safety on-site.
4. Advise associates and managers on safety procedures and legal requirements, leveraging your auditor-level knowledge of Amazon’s policies.
5. Monitor compliance with Amazon’s safety procedures within the Sortation Centre.
6. Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses, and accidents.
7. Assist with incident investigations to identify root causes and develop action plans.
8. Produce weekly safety reports as required.
9. Conduct projects and gather information to identify hazards and assess risks within the delivery station.
10. Ensure ongoing compliance with legislation through action plans.
11. Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures for compliance.
12. Conduct H&S training sessions for managers and associates as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* NVQ Level 3 in occupational safety or NEBOSH Certificate, or equivalent.
* Experience in running metrics reports, data analysis to identify problems and root causes.
* Intermediate level of English (B2) in written and verbal communication.
* Knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation and relevant regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Ability to learn quickly and adhere closely to new processes and procedures.
