JOB TITLE: Senior Automotive Lead

Reporting to: Quality Manager

Contract: Full time

Salary: £42,000

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Automotive Quality and Compliance Lead. The role is crucial in ensuring that DVSA-licence linked qualifications are delivered to a high standard, and will monitor, guide and approve centres to ensure full compliance and appropriate monitoring of assessment activities.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring that all Skills and Education Group Approved Centres adhere to Skills and Education Group Awards standards and other regulatory requirements as set by Skills and Education Group Awards, OFQUAL and the DVSA. The postholder will join a group at a pivotal stage in its development and will be supported in continued professional development.

To be successful, you should have in-depth knowledge of MOT and related automotive qualifications. Educational requirements: at least Level 3 in a relevant vocational subject and a minimum Level 4 in Externally Assuring the Quality of Assessment Process and Practice. Time management, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and IT skills are essential. Job Purpose

* The Senior Automotive Quality and Compliance Lead plays a crucial role in ensuringDVSA-licence linked qualifications are delivered to a high standard. The role involves monitoring, guiding and approving centres to ensure compliance and appropriate assessment monitoring.
* Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role ensures that all Skills and Education Group Approved Centres adhere to Skills and Education Group Awards standards and other regulatory requirements as set by Skills and Education Group Awards, OFQUAL and the DVSA.


Main Duties And Responsibilities

* Liaise with subject specialists to stay up to date with DVSA notices to support qualification maintenance.
* Review question banks and instruct subject specialist writers to update assessment questions in line with current legislation.
* Conduct robust quality assurance annual monitoring of Skills and Education Group Award Approved Centres offering DVSA-license linked qualifications in line with the MOT Auditing Strategy.
* Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Quality and Regulation on approved centres, tutors, and risk areas.
* Carry out on-site visits of centres seeking approval to ensure compliance with centre approval and DVSA requirements.
* Observe teaching and learning of new trainers prior to approval and observe classroom and practical training sessions.
* Perform on-site visits and audits to assess delivery, assessment and administration of qualifications in line with DVSA requirements.
* Carry out face-to-face visits where a centre has been identified as non-compliant, in line with the CASS strategy and regulatory requirements.
* Sample learner evidence to ensure certificated individuals are qualified to work safely within the sector.
* Produce detailed reports on sampling, centre and remote visits with findings, recommendations and areas for improvement based on assessment outcomes.
* Provide expert guidance and support to Approved Centres on compliance, assessment practices and regulatory requirements.
* Provide regular centre updates and training events to support centres in understanding MOT qualifications and DVSA assessment requirements and documentation.
* Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies and documentation for continuous improvement in qualification delivery and assessment.
* Support malpractice investigations relating to DVSA-licence linked qualifications.
* Support events for MOT Centres and co-operate with third-party stakeholders as required.
* Maintain sector competence through CPD and keep up-to-date with changes in regulations, industry standards and best practices.
* Prepare for, participate in and lead standardisation activities.

The above duties are not exclusive; the post holder may be required to undertake other duties as determined by the Director of Qualifications, Assessment and Regulation. The postholder should adopt a flexible approach to ensure efficient operation of the Company.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures and methods to ensure effective performance.
