Child Safety Practitioner & Senior Child Safety Practitioner Division: Child Protection and Family Support Position No: Pool Ref COM25525 Salary: Child Safety Practitioner: CSQ Stream Level 1 $89,000 - $111,000 pa + Super - (DOC) CPCSA 2024/ Senior Child Safety Practitioner: CSQ Stream Level 2 $113,000 - $125,000 pa + Super - (DOC) CPCSA 2024 Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Permanent - Full Time Location: West Kimberley (Broome, Derby, Fitzroy Crossing) & East Kimberley (Kununurra and Halls Creek) Closing Date: 2025-07-28 4:00 PM (YYYY-MM-DD)

The OpportunityAs a Child Safety Practitioner or Senior Child Safety Practitioner, you will be responsible for engaging with children and families to promote and ensure their safety and wellbeing. This may include undertaking investigative actions to assess the safety and wellbeing of a child/ren, partnering with families and services to address child protection issues and strengthen family function, enhance victim-survivor safety through coordinating collaborative responses, or working with a childs care team to enhance the wellbeing of children in the care of the CEO.

As a Senior Child Safety Practitioner you will also work closely with your Team Leader to provide advice and guidance to members of your team on case practice responses, having evidenced further experience, expertise, knowledge and skills in child protection practices.

As a Child Safety Practitioner or Senior Child Safety Practitioner in the Kimberley, you have a unique opportunity to bring your passion, skills and expertise to a diverse regional landscape that will be sure to inspire and challenge your growth as a practitioner.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies fixed term and permanent that arise within the next 12 months across the Department of Communities.

Qualification Requirements
You must have a Tertiary qualification or equivalent qualification as stated on the attached JDF for the relevant role. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
