Teaching Assistant advertJob title – Teaching AssistantLocation - PrestonPay rates - £85 - 110 per day (depending on experience)Length of contract – 3-6 monthsRole Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community. Voluntary or personal experience with children is valued however enthusiasm and commitment matter most. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a dynamic classroom environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide tailored support to individual pupils and small groups, and help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning space.Duties/roles:
* Assist the teacher in delivering lessons by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and helping with classroom management.
* Provide one-on-one support for students who need additional help.
* Keep records of pupil progress and behaviour where needed.
* Help manage behaviour in accordance with school policies.
* Supervise the classroom if the teacher is briefly unavailable (e.g., stepping out)
* Encourage good hygiene, punctuality, and positive behaviour.
* Accompany students on school trips or off-site activities as required.
Person specification:
* Whether you have a Level 2 or 3 qualification or are just starting out, we welcome you to apply.
* Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges or
* Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or
* Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or
* Previous work experience in a Teaching assistant role.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills – evidenced by GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grades 9–4 (A–C)
Essential requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Provide references of previous employment.
* Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
