We are currently seeking temporary cover for the following post. Instructor: Welding To instruct learners, provide technical support and prepare materials as required in relevant workshops. This is a Temporary position for up to 25 hours per week as follows (N.B. due to student timetables the hours are not negotiable): Monday 8 hours 9.00am -11.00am 2.30pm - 4.30pm 5.00pm -9.00pmTuesday 2 hours 9.00am -11.00amWednesday 2 hours 9.00am -11.00amThursday 6 hours 9.00am -11.00am 11.15am - 1.15pm 2.00pm - 4.00pmFriday 5 hours 9.00am -12.00pm 12.30pm - 2.00pm Duties include, but are not limited to the following: To deliver the practical activities associated with the range of qualifications within the programme area of Fabrication and Welding from levels 1 to 3To assist in the co-ordination and management of the relevant practical activitiesTo promote and develop Essential Skills Wales in the associated practical activitiesTo assist in the development of the practical aspects of the curriculumTo work effectively with course teamsTo liaise with colleagues in the management of resourcesTo assess and verify learners' practical projects and courseworkTo monitor and provide reports on learner progress as requiredTo demonstrate commitment towards pastoral care and academic progress of learners and provide appropriate guidance for progressionTo attend regular meetings as required e.g. School, course team, Quality, learner reviews, parents' evening and INSET eventsTo complete administrative procedures as required e.g. Class registers, statistical returns, examination entriesTo assist in organising appropriate educational visits and events as requiredTo assist in marketing, recruitment, and enrolmentTo assist in internal moderation/verification and Quality issuesTo liaise with colleagues and external organisations as required Candidates should possess a Level 3 qualification in the subject area (NVQ or equivalent) and have relevant experience along with level 2 qualifications in Maths and English and be IT Literate to level 2. Candidates should also have knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
