Role Overview
City of York Council is seeking a strong candidate for a maternity cover in the key role of School Safeguarding Advisor.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advice and training to school settings.
* Investigate and respond to OFSTED complaints.
* Manage statutory duties around child employment, personnel licensing and chaperones.
* Act as a key interface between the school system and Social Care.
* Sit on the Safeguarding Partnership and lead relevant sub-groups.
* Contribute to reviews of practice and support key audits.
Qualifications & Experience
The candidate must demonstrate competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly.

* This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.

* The successful candidate must undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
* We do not have a sponsorship licence to sponsor individuals for visas to work in the UK, therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
