Metering Network Electrical Technician
We have a great opportunity for a Metering Network Electrical Technician to join our clean water team in the London area.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on metering equipment and pressure points.
* Use advanced planning and technical systems to diagnose faults and underground failures.
* Make impactful technical decisions, considering both the network and our valued customers.
* Work alongside skilled field teams and control centres to tackle complex flow and pressure challenges.
* Maintain vital equipment stocks to ensure seamless customer service.
Qualifications
* Time‑served apprentice with significant experience of electrical systems in a "true multi‑skilled" capacity. Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, BTEC or C&G level 3 in electrical/electronic engineering is crucial.
* Completed a craft apprenticeship with electrical instrumentation experience, ideally City and Guilds or equivalent qualified in this area.
* Previous experience within the electrical trade and instrument programming knowledge highly advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills, awareness of compliance and health & safety.
* Experience working with SCADA systems and programming of equipment; ability to learn bespoke packages.
* Excellent communication skills with internal colleagues and the general public.
* Full, clean UK driving licence; due to the nature of the role knowledge of Road Traffic Management Act (NRSWA) preferred.
Working Pattern & Location
Base Location: Walton‑on‑Thames - KT12 2EG
Working Pattern: 38 hours Monday‑Friday 7:30 am – 15:30 pm, plus standby rota payments. Overtime opportunities available after essential company training.

* Competitive salary £40,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
