Activate Learning are recruiting for a Student Experience Team Leader to work alongside their Regional Lead to oversee and manage the Student Experience on our Guildford and Merrist Wood Campus, ensuring that students have access to the resources and services they need to succeed academically, socially, and personally. As the Student Experience Team Leader, you'll have the chance to shape memorable experiences that will stay with our students long after they leave our campus.
Reporting to Regional Head of Student Experience and working closely with the Group Director of Faculty and campus, students, faculty, and staff you will help to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive campus community culture that fosters learning, growth, and development, designing your approach to meet local needs whilst maintaining group attitudes and standards. The role will be expected to:
1. Work with the Regional Head of Student Experience to maintain the highest quality student experience and campus community outside of teaching areas
2. Contribute to local leadership at both Guildford and Merrist Wood campuses
3. Engage with all student groups on campus, including online, to gather their feedback and drive improvements
4. Co-ordinate a meaningful enrichment programme in-line with the group strategy and annual plan
5. Facilitate the Student Voice programme at both campuses
6. Work collaboratively with and contribute to a variety of internal networks to ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory regulations e.g., Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Ofsted
This is a permanent full-time role based across our Guildford and Merrist Wood campuses.
What do you need to be successful as a Student Experience Team Leader at Activate Learning?
The successful candidate will require demonstrable experience of working with young people in education, youth/social work, or a public-facing role and experience in working in a customer-focussed role.
A level 3 safeguarding qualification, experience in events management and any other relevant professional qualification are desirable, but not essential.
We're looking for candidates with excellent planning and organisational skills and a solutions-focussed approach to problem solving in a trauma-informed environment. It would support your application to have experience in the Further Education sector and an understanding of the barriers to participation some students may face specifically, but this is not a requirement.
