Overview
Print Specialist / Technical Services Representative — Location: Castleford | Salary: DOE | Working Hours: 37.5 Hour Week | Company: Leading packaging and labels manufacturer.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with Customers and PMAs regarding New Projects, and Label Specifications (discussions about all aspects of the label design, print, costing and timings).
* Work closely with the Customer Services & Graphics teams to ensure all areas of the process are captured before jobs go to press.
* Attend Print Production Meetings (PPM) when required.
* Review new artworks.
* Create Print Specifications for new projects.
* Create Costing for proofing exercises.
* Create Syspro estimates.
* Understand Metric pricing model and create pricing within the Metric pricing model.
* Create Colour Standards, to customer specifications.
* Maintenance of Sequence families for all related Customers.
* Raise Studio Orders for new and amended artworks, or transfer of work.
* Order tooling for new projects.
* Work with Customers when attending onsite proofing and press approvals; act on behalf of Customer for proofing and press approvals when they are unable to attend themselves.
* Keep control of designated Customers/ranges.
* Input ink coverage % into CMS.
* Actively support and promote CI initiatives within your areas.
* Actively seek process improvements and cost saving initiatives throughout the business.
* Understand the Company Quality, Hygiene and Environmental Policies in relation to the relevant standards (BS EN ISO 9001 & PS 9000) and actively promote these within the business.
Requirements
* Experience in a similar role within a fast-moving Label Printers / FMCG environment (Print Specialist / Technical Services Representative).
* Technical knowledge of printing processes - print and packaging.
* Good organisational, problem solving and time management skills.
* Experience within a packaging manufacturer preferred.
* Well-rounded communication skills and the ability to liaise with all levels in an organization including customers.
* Knowledge of working in a fast-moving technical environment.
* Full understanding of combination print reprographics & print process.
