Framework Commissioning Manager - ENVIRONMENT Dorchester Galliford Try is one of the UK’s leading construction groups, delivering cutting-edge infrastructure for clients across water, transport, energy and environmental sectors. As we embark on the next phase of the Wessex Water AMP8 programme, we’re looking for a Framework Commissioning Manager to join our high-performing team and play a pivotal role in shaping water infrastructure across the region. What you will be doing: As our Wessex Water Framework Commissioning Manager, based initially at our Dorchester office, you’ll be the key driver in the successful delivery of MEICA installation and commissioning activities. You’ll lead commissioning across multiple water infrastructure projects, ensuring solutions are efficient, collaborative, and aligned with our “Design to Commission & Takeover” philosophy. From early design input to seamless handover, you’ll work alongside the Client, our in-house delivery teams, specialist supply chain partners, and key stakeholders—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage commissioning activities across AMP8 projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, quality standards, and H&S regulations. Drive the “Design to Commission & Takeover” ethos throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to handover. Collaborate with the Design Team, Operations Managers, and Client Asset Operations to ensure full integration with existing assets. Plan, resource and manage MEICA and commissioning activities with a focus on cost-efficiency, safety, and performance. Develop and oversee project commissioning plans, documentation, testing regimes, and quality records in line with programme deliverables. Ensure all commissioning and MEICA work adheres to latest standards, including WIMES and Galliford Try’s internal processes. Lead and coordinate factory acceptance testing (FATs), site testing, snagging, and final handover processes. Provide leadership and mentorship to commissioning and project teams, ensuring training needs and development are aligned with project success. Ensure robust post-completion support including resolution of defect notifications and performance test completion. Ensure appointment of Authorised Person Electrical (APE) under the Galliford Try Electrical Safety Rules in line with project needs and the resource plan What We're Looking For: We’re seeking a technically strong, collaborative leader with a deep understanding of water industry MEICA systems and a proven ability to deliver commissioning excellence in a high-pressure, safety-critical environment. Essential Experience & Skills: Proven track record leading MEICA & Commissioning delivery in water infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of water treatment systems, mechanical/electrical plant, and commissioning processes. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams. Skilled in managing teams and subcontractors across complex, multi-site programmes. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards including WIMES, BS7671, and DSEAR. Certifications & Training: HNC or higher in an engineering discipline. CSCS or ECS card (appropriate discipline). EUSR National Water Hygiene Card. SMSTS (preferred) or SSSTS (minimum). BS7671 – 18th Edition (Required). COMPEX and PROFIBUS (Desirable). First Aid at Work (Desirable).
