Job Description:
The Company
This leading international food business specializes in high-quality frozen, chilled, and seasonal party foods, supplying major UK retailers as well as key foodservice partners across Europe and beyond.
With manufacturing based in Southeast Asia, this is a fast-paced and agile company renowned for a broad portfolio of products. As they continue to expand across key markets, they are now looking to strengthen their UK technical team with the addition of an experienced Technical Quality Manager.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with the Compliance Manager, this is a pivotal role in championing technical and quality assurance standards across the business. You’ll work closely with an international QA team and UK customers to ensure all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and legislative compliance.
You’ll take ownership of technical excellence and drive continuous improvement across the full product lifecycle, from new product development to launch and post-launch evaluation. This includes managing customer complaints, leading audits, and staying ahead of emerging legislation.
A key focus will be supporting innovation projects, collaborating with NPD and commercial teams to improve sustainability, packaging, and shelf life of products.
You’ll travel frequently to SE Asia and other global supplier sites to support technical training, drive quality improvement initiatives, and ensure product excellence that meets customer expectations.
The Candidate
We’re looking for a technically strong, commercially minded professional passionate about food and quality. Proven experience at the Quality or Technical Manager level and direct exposure to UK retailers are essential.
You must have strong communication skills, including sensitivity to work effectively with international teams where English may not be the first language. Your ability to build trust with customers, lead audits, manage multiple projects, and balance commercial needs will set you apart.
Experience in chilled and frozen food categories, BRC auditing experience, and HACCP Level 4 qualification are required. Culinary skills and an understanding of food trends and sustainability would be advantageous.
This is a broad, exciting role in a business where no two days are the same, and international travel will be a regular part of the job.
If you’re ready to be part of this growing business, then apply now or call 0345 2600 737 to find out more.
