Neonatal Staff Nurse

Are you a passionate and motivated nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of premature and sick newborns and their families? Whether you're an experienced Neonatal Nurse with or without a Qualification in Specialty (QIS), we would love to hear from you.Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at University Hospital Southampton has recently undergone an exciting expansion, making this a fantastic time to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. As a Level 1-3 unit and a regional centre for cardiac and surgical neonatal care, we take referrals from across the Wessex Region and work closely with regional maternity services .

You will work alongside a highly skilled team, caring for the region's most complex neonates. Our unit is proud to promote Family Integrated Care and includes a wide range of specialist services such as the regional transport team (SONET), a dedicated family support and psychology team, and surgical specialist nurses - all ensuring excellent support at the bedside.

The Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University Hospital Southampton has recently undergone an expansion, so it is an exciting time to join the team. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic person who embraces change and welcomes new opportunities.


Person Specification


Qualifications, knowledge and experience

* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
* Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
* Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
* Understanding of personal accountability
* Knowledge of own role within the team
* Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
* Awareness of evidence-based practice
* Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
* Evidence of on-going personal development
* Evidence of recent study
* Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
* Teaching experience
