Fun, rewarding and with the opportunity to develop and grow your career. That’s life with L&C Mortgages, the UK’s leading fee free mortgage broker with over 160 awards to its name.

Join us and you’ll be part of a business that takes your progress seriously and wants you to enjoy being part of the L&C family. From ‘The Extra Mile’ colleague nominations – recognising those who go above and beyond, to in depth employee assistance and support programmes, comprehensive benefits hub via Perkbox, your birthday off and much more. This is a place that really wants to give back on the effort you put in.

Right now, we’re looking to recruit an IT Systems Administrator. The IT Operations Team is responsible for ensuring that our IT infrastructure and business services are secure, fit-for-purpose, operational, reliable, resilient, and cost effective. The IT Systems Administrator will be part of that team providing high level technical support across multiple systems and applications as well as supporting projects to improve IT services.

The role

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations Team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager you will be an escalation point for complex technical incidents from the 1st and 2nd line support teams. You will be expected to take ownership and ensure incidents are resolved in a timely manner, providing feedback to further develop IT colleagues as required. You will act as a main point of contact when dealing with third-party suppliers and will be expected to log tickets and follow up through to resolution in a timely manner. You’ll identify root causes of issues and implement resolutions, as well as highlighting and reporting any possible security, performance or cost reducing actions

You’ll be a key player in proactively ensuring our infrastructure is operational and supports our business needs, as well as monitoring the health and performance of our systems, tracking software versions and implementing patches or upgrades, and running data backups as needed.

You’ll need to approach things with a security first mindset, and follow best practices to maintain integrity of our IT infrastructure, protecting the systems from any internal or external malicious activity

FCA certification regime & conduct rules

L&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

* You must be open and cooperative with the FCA, the PRA and other regulators
* You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly
* You must observe proper standards of market conduct

About you

You’ll have proven experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer or equivalent minimum 2nd line level experience in a different role. Your technical skills and analytical ability allow you to provide high level support across multiple systems and ensure these systems are fit for purpose and operational. Ideally you’ll have knowledge and experience with the following:

You’ll need to have excellent written and verbal communication skill combined with strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to interact effectively with colleagues across all levels of the business, and external third parties. You’ll also have a keen eye for detail and resolve problems efficiently with a proactive and resourceful approach.

You’ll be enthusiastic and eager to learn and improve upon your existing skills, as may be required when business needs change.
