Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager is accountable for the on-time delivery of conforming manufactured products and systems; sales and operational planning; maintaining and improving Quality; Manage operational Health & Safety requirements (including risk assessments)
Lead the Operations team comprising of Manufacturing, Planning, Stores, Installation and Test and Shipping (28 employees altogether)
Control resources and policy formation in area of responsibility
Monitor manufacturing and test performance daily to maximise utilisation and aid planning, by utilising appropriate systems to analyse throughputs and demands, taking corrective action where necessary to ensure key performance measures are met and develop a safety focussed culture within the Operations team
Interpretation and manipulation of data to identify trends and patterns to make informed decisions to drive operational improvement
Although not essential, you will preferably have a degree in Business or Manufacturing Management related discipline (or equivalent). Experience in management position ideally within electro-mechanical assembly and test or related industry Proven production management skills and detailed knowledge of material procurement logistics within a manufacturing environment
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to process and interpret data to make informed decisions and to effectively manage operations.
Ability to develop, implement and monitor strategic and business objectives and review the general running of the business within own area of expertise, challenging as appropriate and providing value-adding analysis
Security Clearance:
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Hybrid working model
