Leading UK‑based engineering and automation specialist designs and manufactures engineered‑to‑order mechanical tooling, jigs, fixtures, torque reaction systems and automated assembly equipment for high‑precision manufacturing environments.
All projects are delivered in‑house from concept design through to manufacture, assembly, testing and handover to major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers within the automotive sector.

The Role – Project Engineer
Manage and support the delivery of bespoke mechanical and automated engineering projects from order handover through to installation and final sign‑off. Act as the key engineering interface between sales, mechanical design engineers, manufacturing, suppliers and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to cost and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main technical interface between design, manufacturing, and the client
* Attend project handover meetings to fully understand scope, requirements and constraints
* Plan and coordinate project activities, milestones, costs and resources
* Review and interpret 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs and technical documentation
* Provide technical support to the shop floor during manufacturing and build
* Coordinate procurement of bought‑out components and subcontracted services
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure components meet specification and delivery dates
* Support risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
* Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and pre‑delivery inspections
* Attend occasional customer sites to support installation, commissioning or troubleshooting
* Track progress and report status, risks and issues to senior management
What We’re Looking For
Essential
* Proven experience in a Project Engineer or Project‑focused Engineering role
* Strong mechanical engineering background
* Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD models and 2D drawings
* Confident coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Practical, hands‑on engineering mindset
Qualifications
* HNC / HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
