Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable, hands-on role within a large, asset-heavy operation?

The environment is mechanically demanding, with a wide variety of moving plant, machinery, and mechanical systems requiring proactive maintenance and rapid fault response.

The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment in a busy operational environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repair on heavy plant and machinery
* Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment reliability
* Maintenance of bearings, chains, gearboxes, drives, motors, rollers and hydraulics
* Welding, fabrication, and mechanical fitting where required
* Supporting safe operation through inspections and remedial works
* Working closely with operations to minimise downtime
* Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards
Shift Pattern
* 45-hour working week
* Any 5 days over 7 (rota-based)
* Mix of weekdays and weekends
* Consistent hours with predictable scheduling
Salary & Benefits
* £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)

What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
* Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
* Background in heavy industrial, manufacturing, utilities, materials handling, or similar environments
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
* Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, apprenticeship, or equivalent) preferred
* Practical, safety-conscious, and reliable approach
