Lecturer or Associate Professor in Soft Matter Physics
Are you an influential academic with a proven ability to carry out teaching and research in Soft Matter Physics, particularly in liquid crystals? Do you have the ability to provide academic leadership, conduct high-quality research, and teach in Physics? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience at a research-intensive Russell Group University?
We seek a dedicated academic with expertise in Soft Matter Physics who can contribute to academic leadership within the department. Join the established Soft Matter Physics Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Leeds, fostering collegiality within the academic community.
You should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, with research experience evidenced by publications, successful grant applications, engagement with external collaborators such as standards committees and industry partners, and presentations at international conferences. The ideal candidate is an experimental physicist with a history of interdisciplinary collaboration across theory, chemistry, and experimental physics. Experience in leading undergraduate and postgraduate modules is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in areas related to liquid crystal optics, especially in the context of sustainability.
