Job Summary
We are recruiting a clinical/counselling psychologist for the Sutton integrated recovery hub service. Sutton adult mental health services are formed by two multidisciplinary teams within an Integrated Recovery Hub, linked to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises. Psychologists are valued in the service and work alongside other Psychologists at both same level and at Principal/Consultant levels. You will collaborate with Psychiatrists, CPNs, Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioners, Recovery & Support Workers and Specialist Employment Advisors to provide high quality treatment and recovery options for service users with severe mental health conditions, including psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder, and severe mood & anxiety disorders.

Job responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessments using a range of sources including tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations and interviews with clients and others involved in care.
* Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatment and management of mental health problems, across the full range of care settings.
* Deliver a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups; refine formulations drawing on different explanatory models and maintain provisional hypotheses.
* Evaluate treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors shaping individuals, families or groups.
* Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment and discharge of clients with care plans based on psychological care.
* Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing to formulation, diagnosis and treatment plans.
* Contribute to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care across settings and agencies serving people with severe and enduring mental health problems.
* Undertake risk assessment and risk management; advise other professions on psychological aspects of risk management.
* Act as care coordinator where appropriate, initiating planning and review of care plans under enhanced CPA with involvement of clients, carers and referring agents.
* Communicate effectively with clients and care teams, monitor progress during uni- and multi-disciplinary care, and integrate contributions from other professionals as required.
Person Specification
Experience – Essential
* Experience of assessment and treatment of people with mental health problems using evidence-based psychological therapies, particularly CBT.
* Demonstrated specialist training/experience with at least 50 hours of clinical supervision over 18 months, or as agreed by the Head of Psychology and Psychotherapies.
* Experience with routine outcome monitoring.
* Experience in establishing diagnosis/psychological formulation.
Desirable
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
* Experience applying clinical psychology in different cultural contexts and in multicultural settings.
* Experience meeting agreed service targets.
Training and Qualifications – Essential
* Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more therapies and lifespan psychology; or equivalent UK-recognised training for those trained prior to 1996.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
* Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
* Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council in the appropriate domain.
Desirable
* Eligible for BABCP accreditation as CBT therapist; Baden to seek accreditation. Formal CBT training (e.g., Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in CBT).
* BABCP accreditation as CBT practitioner and training in EMDR.
Knowledge & Skills – Essential
* Skilled in complex psychological assessment, intervention and management requiring high concentration.
* Strong written and spoken communication of complex information to adults with mental health problems.
* Experience providing consultation to professionals and non-professionals in primary care.
* Leadership skills and knowledge of how the service supports patient care.
