Senior Clinical Support Worker – Band 3

Key responsibilities
* Cover a 24‑hour period, working both day and night shifts.
* Care for patients pre‑ and post‑operatively with complex conditions, including life‑changing surgery.
* Prioritise workload, work collaboratively within the ward team, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
* Carry out a range of clinical skills, including taking clinical observations, venepuncture, glucose monitoring, pregnancy testing, urine analysis, fecal sampling, 12‑lead ECG, observing patients for agitation or distress, wound observation, simple wound dressing, peripheral cannula removal, swab taking, and supporting new staff through the buddy system.
Required qualifications and experience
* GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills (or equivalent).
* Full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (accredited awarding body).
* 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
* Knowledge of the Proud to Care document and its importance in safety and quality.

* Competitive salary: £25,760 - £27,476 per annum, pro rata.
