Overview
Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL) premises through effective and efficient methods that deliver a safe and welcoming environment and meet NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment. NHS Lanarkshire serves a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in North and South Lanarkshire, with Acute Services, Corporate & Property & Support Services, and Health and Social Care Partnerships providing integrated services.
What we’ll need you to bring
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* On the job training and induction (generally 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency across a range of duties
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
* PaMOVA training level 1 and level 2 if identified following a risk assessment
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
* Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
* Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
Note: for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
Nice to have
* Recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification
* Experience in a domestic services/cleaning environment
* Knowledge of systems and processes such as HAI, Manual Handling, Management of Aggression, Infection Control, COSHH, Fire Safety
* Use of a range of electrical cleaning equipment
* Flexible; willing to learn; ability to work under pressure

This is a part-time post and the salary will be pro-rata.
Location and working pattern
Based in Support Services within Coathill Hospital. The working pattern is Monday - Thursday 16:00-19:00 and Friday 16:00-18:48.
