The opportunity: Working within a fast-paced environment, the Quality Engineer will collaborate with the Quality team to analyze, design, and implement process solutions aimed at improving quality performance.
How you will impact WestRock:
1. Monitor daily department performance KPIs and identify areas for improvement.
2. Calculate metrics and evaluate process and quality data to recommend improvement opportunities.
3. Assist with process troubleshooting and optimization analysis.
4. Ensure compliance with all documented quality systems in line with business requirements.
5. Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Measurement System Error Analysis (MSE), Design of Experiments (DOE), and validations to minimize potential risks during manufacturing.
6. Provide statistical support during improvement activities, including sampling plans, capability assessments, and process development.
7. Act as the Voice of the Customer for assigned customers, maintaining detailed knowledge/documentation of customer quality standards, manufacturing processes, and managing NCR resolutions.
8. Conduct internal audits to support the business quality management systems.
9. Manage multiple projects related to process improvements.
10. Assist in developing a long-term strategy for continuous improvement.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
1. Willingness to travel occasionally.
2. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
3. Excellent communication, briefing, and presentation skills.
4. Proven track record of achievement in Quality and/or Technical roles, preferably in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
5. Experience with problem-solving techniques.
6. Desirable knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques.
7. Full driving license.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
