GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs to thrive both academically and personally.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupils with a variety of additional needs. You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
* Assist in delivering tailored lessons and targeted interventions
* Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
* Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
* Support pupils with EHCPs, ensuring individual needs are met
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
* Understanding of differentiated learning strategies
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* Patience, empathy, resilience, and a passion for supporting vulnerable learners
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
