Main duties of the job

As a Nurse at STEPS you will be ensuring that our clients receivehigh-quality, holistic nursing care throughout their journey with us. You willwork as a key member of the inter-disciplinary team to support our clients,respecting their privacy and dignity and promoting independence. While you arecarrying out your duties you will be aligned with STEPS values and behavioursat all times.

You are joining a professional, compassionate, and highly skilled group of nurses and nurse associates who are dedicated to delivering safe, personcentred care and supporting our clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

As part of the nursing team, you will play a vital role in maintaining clinical excellence, promoting independence, and ensuring the wellbeing of every individual in our care. Youll work closely with Rehabilitation Assistants, and the rest of the interdisciplinary team to ensure each client receives the highest standard of nursing support tailored to their unique needs.

Job responsibilities

This Job description is an outlinewhich reflects the present requirements of the post and is not intended to beexhaustive list of duties the post holder will be expected to fulfil.

To assess, implement andmonitor individual care plans for our clients

To involve patients andcarers in the development and delivery of goals within the care plan

To take the lead on theunit as and to provide clinical leadership, support and guidance to other teammembers

To act upon and escalateissues as required following STEPS guidance and operating procedures

To administermedications and treatment as prescribed, monitor effects and report as defined

To be compliant with theclinical governance requirements operating within STEPS procedures

To be involved inclinical audits as and when directed

Carrying out allprocedures relating to the personal care and nutritional needs of patientsdealing with emergencies as required.

To undertake duties andresponsibilities as defined in the work plan.

To honour STEPS valuesby demonstrating appropriate behaviours and encouraging this in others

To facilitate andco-ordinate the activities of the team

To have responsibility and accountability for theoverall quality of client care delivery including meetings and reviews


Person Specification


Experience

* Experience working in any aspects of nursing with a rehabilitation element, this may have been as part of a student placement if newly qualified
* IT experience including Microsoft Office packages
* Experience of working within governance frameworks e.g. clinical systems / data management / complaints untoward incidents
* Demonstrable experience and working knowledge of the Data Protection Act
* Creative and innovative approach, inclusive and engaging approach to client care
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Excellent communicator both written and verbal / demonstrate excellent listening skills
* Able to form key working relationships with colleagues, understand the dynamics of interdisciplinary working
* Ability to demonstrate an awareness of equality and diversity obligations when delivering care and also towards colleagues.
* Rehabilitation experience in any of the following areas; neurology, orthopaedic trauma, spinal injuries, complex poly trauma
* Experience of training package development and delivery across relevant subject e.g. Data Protection / Clinical Training
* Experience of audit functions

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse on the NMC register
* Eligibility to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship for this post.
* Key trainer/train the trainer qualification.
* Approved mentorship or teaching qualification
* Qualification / short courses in staff management / supervision

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£32,445 to £39,294 a yearpro rata. Generous benefits package
