The Role And Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary or supporting investigator on cases involving Serious Sexual Offences and High Risk Domestic Abuse.
* Conduct evidence-led investigations, victim/witness interviews, and manage suspects through interview and charging processes.
* Work in close partnership with Iris Teams, SOITs, Domestic Abuse Case Workers, IDVAs, and external agencies.
* Use Niche and other investigative tools to manage and progress case files in a timely and accurate manner.
* Identify and manage risks to children and vulnerable adults, and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately.
* Prepare high-quality case files and attend court as required.
* Engage with multi-agency partners, contribute to MARAC processes, and support long-term victim safety.
* Actively contribute to the team’s learning culture and the development of investigative standards.
Skills & Experience
* Current substantive Police Constable.
* Demonstrable interest in, or prior exposure to, Public Protection, Domestic Abuse or Serious Sexual Offences.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with victims, partners, and suspects.
* Confident working independently, with good organisational and decision-making skills.
* A trauma-informed and victim-centred approach to safeguarding and investigation.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and working ethically.
