About the Role
We are in a unique position to take on individuals who may not have the relevant qualifications and experience, as we have a dedicated training department that can support your development. We believe that some of the best youth workers are those with life experience and a desire for an opportunity to work within the care sector.
Responsibilities
You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the care system for various reasons and have diverse needs, including disorders and challenging behaviours. We require individuals who are confident, understanding, patient, and skilled to make a positive impact on their lives.
This position involves providing guidance, interaction, and support to children and young adults within residential, educational, or independent living settings, creating a safe environment that addresses their intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.
Additional Duties
* Supporting with daily tasks such as meal preparation, social activities, maintaining family contacts, education, and shopping.
* Being a positive role model for the children and young people.
Requirements
* Flexibility, reliability, and an interactive approach.
* Willingness to undertake full training and obtain qualifications including Team Teach, Child Protection, First Aid (St Johns Ambulance), Understanding Sexualised Behaviour, Working with Self Harm, Understanding Autism and ADHD, and Lone Work training.
* A valid driving license is required, as you will need to drive the company vehicle and transport young people to social and educational venues.
* Completion of an enhanced DBS check or provision of a portable DBS, along with successful completion of our assessment programmes prior to placements.
