Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our small team at our Italian inspired pasta cafe. With a big focus on seasonality and fresh produce the role gives chefs the opportunity to flex their cookery skills in a fresh food kitchen where every dish is cooked to order. The focus here is on food quality and you won't have to spend hours on a laptop or supervising other chefs, it's a three person team and all we ask for is passion for cooking and commitment to quality and standards.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the Group Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment along with a commitment to food quality.
We like all our staff to have a good work/life balance so offer the role as a 4 day working week between Thursday and Sunday ensuring 3 days off every week. Free meals come as standard and 20% off at our other venues along with 22.4 days holiday per year.
Service charge is split equally amongst the team and is very lucrative due to the small number of staff. In the past three months it has equated to an extra £700 per month per person.
Duties
* Assist the Group Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production.
* Help in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for dishes.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
* Handle any issues that arise within the kitchen promptly and effectively.
Skills
* Strong culinary skills with a passion for food production and hospitality.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
* Ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive working atmosphere.
