Senior Colour & Materials Designer / Materiality Manager - 36117979 - £50.49/hr umbrella rate
Do you have a passion for colour and material technology, sustainability and design? This role has the lead responsibility for designing and developing sustainable and responsible colour and materials content for our brands. What You Will Do
* Lead research initiatives to identify trends, industry shifts, and innovative ideas for next-generation vehicles.
* Develop and implement inspiring colour and material design proposals, contributing to materiality strategies, concept cars, and vision properties.
* Collaborate with external suppliers to create and deliver colours, materials, finishes, and grains through to production.
* Coordinate and manage the project lifecycle for vehicle builds related to colour and material design.
* Translate material concepts from 2D designs to 3D products, ensuring alignment with production specifications.
* Mentor and coach team members, sharing best practices and expertise to elevate the team's overall performance.
What You Will Bring
* Proven experience in colour and material design, with a portfolio showcasing your creative application within modern luxury.
* Proficiency in design software including: Photoshop, Illustrator, VRED, and InDesign.
* Strong understanding of automotive design processes and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Passion for sustainability, material innovation, and modern luxury, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
* A relevant Design Degree in Textiles, Fashion, Graphics, Product, Automotive Design or similar.
Successful candidates will have a modern luxury taste level and design execution demonstrated in their portfolio.
In this role, you'll play a key part in pushing the boundaries of design and sustainability, contributing to the company's vision of delivering premium, forward-thinking solutions. Your expertise will help shape the future of vehicle interiors and exteriors, ensuring they meet the highest standards of innovation and luxury.
Location: This role is based in Gaydon, a hub of automotive innovation and design excellence.
