Length of employment: Job Summary: The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Join the Information Directorate - Powering the Army's Digital Edge This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job Description: Operating in support of the Army's digital transformation and at the heart of its clear understanding of the importance and centrality of data and information, the Information Interoperability Technical Officer role sits within the I2 Policy and Standards Team and provides broad technical input across the I2 team. The post will be responsible for cohering technical input to Army policy and international standards from the Information Interoperability viewpoint. Working closely with the military SO2 Policy and Standards, and up to the military SO1 Policy and Standards the primary role for the post will be supporting the SO1 Policy and Standards with Technical Assurance of I2 standards across the Joint and allied domains. The post will also act as the Deputy D Info Directorate focal point for UK coalition info interoperability; in particular NATO, and allied Bi-lateral agreements. This an exciting technical role with regular opportunities for travel both in the UK and internationally. The post is pivotal in supporting the wider Defence Digital Ambitions with frequent engagement with both Joint and international partners. The post is part of an expanding team with development opportunities including development of DDAT success spirals. Your main responsibilities will include: Provision of technical I2 Assurance & Guidance in support of the SO1 Policy & Standards on Joint, Allied and NATO I2 Standards informed and guided by Defence policy Deputy Focal Point for UK Army's coalition of I2 across NATO and other allied partners Supporting with the coordination of management of LAND Environment (LE) Information Exchange Requirements (IER) to meet the user requirements and maintain coherence with multinational standards Assisting the national coordinator in identifying subject matter experts to lead capability groups Secretary Chair to the NATO Senior Land IER Panel (SLIERP) Co-ordinate and manage collaborative Cyber Command, control, communications and computers intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C5ISR)technical agreements & standards between GBR and multi-nationalpartners The Army prides itself on being a supportive employer and where possible encourages flexible working, helping you to maintain a great work/life balance. Interview dates are to be confirmed but these will be held in person at Army Headquarters Andover. We endeavour to keep to these time frames, but these are subject to change around business needs. The Ministry of Defence requires all candidates who are successful at interview to declare any outside interests.
