Job Scope
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Tyneside, focusing on significant utility infrastructure projects across the UK. This role is key to supporting an extensive replacement and refurbishment programme involving existing 400V LVAC & back up diesel system replacements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will become an integral part of our project design team and duties will include the following:
· Liaising with suppliers to specify replacement 400V switchboards.
· Producing detailed design reports, including essential grading studies for sub-distribution loads and comprehensive cable sizing calculations.
· Conducting site visits to various utility locations within the UK to gather necessary existing site information.
· Performing electrical loading studies to ensure system integrity and compliance.
Required Skills and Experience
* Proven experience within the Electrical Installation Industry.
* Expertise in designing 400V LVAC and Diesel back-up systems and installations to the current British Standard, BS 7671.
* Proficiency with Amtech/Trimble software is an ideal requirement.
* Experience with switchboard specification.
* Strong knowledge of electrical loading studies.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D drafting packages.
* Willingness to travel for site visits across the UK.
Qualifications and Location
* Education: Qualified to ONC/HNC or degree level in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Location: Must live within practical travelling distance of our offices on South Tyneside.
* Eligibility: Must be fluent in English and eligible to work in the UK.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role and with relevant experience and qualifications will be from £40,000 to £65,000+ per year, depending on experience level.
