Job Overview:
We are currently supporting a highly successful and rapidly growing business in Barnsley, which is looking to add a Payroll Manager to their finance department on a permanent basis.
This is a standalone position where you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, as well as various reporting, pension administration, and query resolution. You will have full autonomy in your role to ensure smooth payroll processing and will be supported to implement processes to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. End-to-end payroll processing for approximately 1800 employees
2. Managing fortnightly and monthly payrolls for employees across multiple sites
3. Compiling payroll data and producing payroll reports
4. HMRC reporting and year-end duties
5. Submission of pension contributions
6. Administration of the time and attendance system
7. Monitoring and maintaining the payroll email inbox and resolving queries
8. Annual submission of the company’s Gender Pay Gap Report
9. Performing other tasks as required for the role and personal development
Person Specification:
1. At least 2 years of payroll experience
2. Sage 50 payroll experience is advantageous
3. High attention to detail and accuracy
4. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines within the payroll calendar
