Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing project delivery, ensuring site works are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves managing subcontractors, liaising with the supply chain, and supporting the Project Manager for successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
* Review and analyze contract documents, project plans, specifications, and provide comments.
* Coordinate with departments, Project Engineers/Managers, and stakeholders to meet project milestones.
* Assist in scheduling and conducting project review meetings focusing on contract terms, scope, cost, and timelines.
* Report on project status, including variations, issues, and solutions to the Project Manager.
* Communicate with customers and stakeholders to ensure progress and resolve issues.
Project Management Support:
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the project.
* Monitor contract variations and report changes to scope, cost, and delivery.
* Prepare progress reports and updates for client meetings.
* Manage project budgets, costs, and forecasts.
* Support warranty management and mitigate warranty claims.
* Supervise subcontractors and supply chain teams, ensuring safety and contractual compliance.
* Assist in developing and implementing the Construction Phase Plan.
* Oversee site mobilization and conduct site inductions.
* Review and ensure adherence to RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
* Manage logistics and site operations for timely delivery of materials.
* Enforce safety regulations, including CDM compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience in engineering or project management within construction or infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of NEC contract conditions.
* CSR Gold Card and First Aid at Work certification.
Skills & Abilities:
* Strong communication skills for technical, commercial, and client interactions.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and ERP systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Attention to detail and compliance.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes is advantageous.
* Effective team collaboration skills.
* CAD experience is a plus.
Travel & Flexibility:
* Travel within Northern Ireland for site visits.
* Occasional overnight stays with planning.
* Role involves office and on-site work, with accommodations for disabilities.
