We are seeking a self‑motivated, organised and experienced Sales Advisor to join our team based at our Plumbing specialist office in Darlington. The Sales Advisor is the first point of contact for the Company, dealing with routine and specialist product enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner and providing quotations, sales and processing orders via online chat, phone or e‑mail. The goal is to deliver the highest level of customer service across all channels while maximising sales opportunities.
Duties
* Act as the first point of contact, dealing with routine and specialist product enquiries and communicating relevant information to colleagues or referring to others as appropriate.
* Up‑sell products to existing customers, including key products and special offers.
* Drive sales by producing quotes, identifying opportunities to help customers with their projects and advising on related product lines.
* Ensure effective creation and follow‑up of sales quotations.
* Liaise with suppliers to fulfil customer orders.
* Help promote the company through a positive attitude and customer engagement.
* Escalate product or customer issues to the Customer Service team and maintain follow‑up on‑going queries.
* Enter notes into a database, including dates for follow‑up calls.
* Develop and retain product knowledge by attending supplier training events.
Qualifications
* Excellent selling skills and results‑driven attitude.
* Previous experience in a similar inbound sales role.
* Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner.
* Experience within a Plumbing Sales role or ownership of Plumbers Merchant knowledge.
* Computer literate with high standard of written and spoken English.
* Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
* Ability to absorb new information quickly and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Attention to detail, accuracy under pressure, and a consistent ‘right first time’ work ethic.
* Flexibility in approach and ability to meet deadlines.
