Job Title: Senior Finance Assistant (Hybrid) Location: Newcastle City Centre Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Hybrid Working (3 days in the office, 2 WFH) Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexible start/finish times; 30-minute unpaid lunch break) About the Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Assistant to join our Head Office team in Newcastle. In this role, you will play a key part in the day-to-day operations of our busy Finance Department. You'll be responsible for preparing management accounts, reconciling balance sheets, managing payments, and providing financial insights to support key decision-making. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process management accounts up to trial balance Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations Process journals accurately and timely Generate monthly profit and loss reports for individual homes and the parent company Analyse budget variances and prepare reports for the Head of Finance Perform monthly bank reconciliations Prepare and process monthly supplier payments Approve purchase orders and support purchasing for homes Check and reconcile monthly personal allowance (PA) accounts, food allowances, and petty cash Conduct audits of PA accounts when residents leave Process ad hoc payments as needed Reconcile sponsorship payments Assist four-weekly payroll Provide cover for the other Senior Finance Assistant when required Perform various ad hoc finance tasks Skills and Experience Required Sage 50 Accounts experience is essential Strong Excel skills (including use of formulas and pivot tables) Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines Detail-oriented and proactive approach to work About Us: At Careline Lifestyles, we are a family-run specialist provider of residential and nursing care, dedicated to supporting adults with acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, mental health needs, learning disabilities, and complex physical disabilities.
