Job Description Production Controller Full Time Derby What you will be doing: Compression Systems, Planning & Control have a n exciting opportunity for a Production Controller to join our Operations team in Derby. Compression Systems conduct the manufacture and supply of critical parts including Blisks, Discs, Drums and Shafts for the Fan, Compressor and Turbine modules in many Civil, Defence and Marine engines. Compression Systems have operational facilities in Oberursel (Germany), Derby, Annesley, Barnoldswick, Inchinnan and Washington (UK). Your role will be based in one of the Derby sites with some potential opportunity for hybrid working. As a Production Controller you will ensure that a Rolls Royce Operational Facility has the material and resources to manufacture a defined portfolio of critical aero engine products in a fast paced, world-class, engineering facility. You will optimise and champion adherence to the agreed plan whilst maintaining the executive MRP/ERP systems and supporting the Rolls-Royce Production System. You need to be an excellent communicator and integrator working with a range of functions including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and External Service Providers. Responsibilities: In this role y ou will be proactive in identifying and resolving risks which could impact delivery, inventory, and cost performance. You will support the introduction and be passionate about achieving production rate ramp up of new products, in addition you will: Production Scheduling – Using machine scheduling techniques to control production through the manufacturing process in line with the business requirements to deliver products on-time to customer expectations. Managing the executive system (SAP) - Ensuring that all systems used to control production planning are maintained daily and reporting key performance data for your area including Production Order Adherence, Throughput Monitoring, and Slow Moving WIP. Working with the multi-functional team to monitor and ensure adherence to the plan at machine level and resource group level. Where performance diverges from the plan, identify, mitigate, and drive effective and full resolution. Subcontractor management - Regularly managing the performance of a number of subcontractors to ensure production plans and service levels are met. Working with our Procurement teams to ensure material availability through early identification and prevention of shortages and excess which would otherwise impact business performance. Passionate about Planning with a proven track record of Load & Capacity planning and Inventory management. Skilled in using problem solving techniques to identify risks and putting the necessary corrective actions in place using a cross function team solution. Someone who is comfortable working both alone, with a high level of detail, but also works well as part of a team to improve overall business performance.
