Job Overview
We are seeking a Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+) to join our expanding Acute Medicine service in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit. The role involves seeing a wide range of conditions, including Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly and Stroke. All patients are managed with excellent in‑reach from the aforementioned specialties.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide acute medical care in the SDEC department at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General hospitals.
* Work a normal 9‑5 shift with occasional 11‑7 openings; no night shifts.
* Rotate between the two sites during the 12‑month appointment.
* Receive 1 protected day per month for specialty clinics or other interests.
* Dedicate a half day per week to non‑clinical tasks such as QI and audit.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours and weekend work, averaging 1 long day per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registrar grade with completed IMT training.
* Experience in general and acute medicine; suitable for those considering or having completed a career break.
* Experience working across multiple sites is desirable.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
