GMP Recruitment are proud to partner with a highly successful and highly recognisable bespoke engineering company located in Stroud. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced and multiskilled CNC Setter/Operator to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm with the potential for some flexibility if this can be accommodated.
The successful candidate will be offered a highly competitive basic salary of up to £40,560 per annum, which is demonstrable with previous, relevant experience, plus additional company benefits.
We are looking for a time served machining professional who can demonstrate good knowledge and experience in setting and operating CNC Turning/Milling machines. This is a great opportunity to join a hugely successful organisation and contribute towards their continual success.
CNC Setter/Operator main duties:
* Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as Milling and Turning.
* Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading engineering drawings, mechanical drawings and translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
* Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
* Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result and inspect and measure finished products to determine if the process has been completed properly.
* Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
CNC Setter/Operator desired skills and experience:
* A time served machining individual.
* Good knowledge and experience in setting and operating milling/turning machines.
* Experience in editing would be desirable.
* Experience using Fanuc (G-Code) controls to assist in running our milling section. (desirable)
* Advantageous to have experience on OneCNC offline programming.
* A good knowledge of cutting data is desirable to machine aluminium and stainless steel for the Aerospace, oil and gas and high technical industries.
* Have an enthusiastic can-do attitude with an eye for detail.
* An interest in aviation engineering is a bonus.
* Equally happy to work in a small team or unsupervised.
