Prestige Medical Group is looking for an experienced and committed Nurse who will contribute positively to the Nursing team.

You will either already be a lead Nurse or ready to make that next step.

Independent in action but team-oriented, the role will suit an individual looking to have a voice in delivering care to our patient community.

An essential clinical requirement is advanced diabetic clinical skills to enable the person to be the Practice Nursing clinical lead.

Main duties of the job

The role includes leadership as well as involvement in practice nursing duties centering around health promotion, women's health, and chronic disease management.

The successful candidate would work within a team-based approach to health care delivery, requiring good communication and IT skills to adapt to changes in patient consultations.

Our multidisciplinary service offers care to 16,000 patients in Burnley, with a team of 49 members, including 6 GP partners and 6 other GPs, 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1 Paramedic Practitioner, 2 Specialist Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, 1 Assistant Practitioner, 3 GPAs, and a highly skilled admin team. We are a long-established training practice that trains GPs and supports development roles in nursing, providing placements and employment opportunities to Physician Associates and Paramedics.

Job responsibilities

The attached Job Description outlines the formal role requirements, which will be finalized in consultation with the successful candidate based on their experience and skills.

Our primary focus is supporting patients with long-term conditions through diagnosis, management, and routine monitoring. We seek a nurse willing to use motivational interviewing techniques in patient consultations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a self-motivated desire to keep their skills current and responsive to emerging developments in diabetes care.

The nurse will empower patients with a clear understanding of their condition's challenges.


Person Specification


Experience

* Sufficient post-registration experience in chronic disease management within the NHS to ensure confidence and autonomy
* Willingness to adhere to protocols and clinical guidelines, applying them effectively in patient care
* Experience in general practice chronic disease management


Qualifications

* Registered Part 1 NMC
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience
* Diploma training in diabetes, CHD, respiratory care
* Current accreditation in Cervical Cytology
* FSRH diploma or working towards it


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, requiring a Disclosure and Barring Service check for any criminal convictions.

£43,742 per year, following but not directly linked to AFC Band 7.
