Key Responsibilities
1. You will provide an emergency out of hours service, working a weekly on-call rota covering 365 days a year, subject to appropriate negotiations.
2. Install new work often using your own judgement regarding a range of complex equipment, requiring accuracy and precision.
3. Problem solve technical issues and fault diagnosis on complex mechanical systems.
4. Observe statutory and other relevant requirements, particularly regarding H&S and Codes of Practice applicable to Operational Services.
5. Respond to switchboard and building management system alarms, e.g., fire alarms, lift trappings, medical gas alarms, boiler alarms, pipework leaks.
6. Lead and manage contractor teams delivering project work, including consultants, contractors, and agency staff, as projects develop, involving recruitment and performance/behaviour management on site.
7. Deputise for the Senior Estates Manager in managing duties and providing technical advice to other Estates staff, clinical colleagues, and third-party contractors.
8. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and day-to-day duties involving maintenance of all types of plant, equipment, and installations, including boilers, water testing, drainage repairs, and minor installations.
