Role Overview
The Lead Practitioner - English will take a leadership role in developing, implementing, and evaluating outstanding teaching and will play a key role in school improvement. Responsibilities include:
* Supporting and coaching staff in developing their pedagogic repertoire.
* Contributing to the development of schemes of work within the department.
* Modeling best practice in lesson differentiation for all students, including the least able and the most able and gifted.
* Assisting in strategic planning for students with special educational needs.
* Using student performance data effectively to impact classroom practice and raise achievement.
* Leading and developing the mentoring program for early-stage teachers and contributing to whole-school mentoring.

Qualifications and Experience
* QTS (or equivalent)
* Relevant degree related to the role
* Evidence of continuous professional development and reflective practice
* Successful experience as an outstanding practitioner
* Experience leading teaching and learning initiatives beyond own classroom
* Experience providing effective feedback to colleagues
* Experience with improvement planning and strategy implementation
* Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues
