Sewell Wallis is currently partnering with a well-established business based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a Part-Time basis (20 hours per week, £15,000 pro-rata). This position is ideal for someone with Assistant Accountant-level experience who wishes to grow within a professional and supportive environment.
What will you be doing?
* Producing monthly accounts for overhead cost centres and assisting with budgets and forecasts.
* Reconciling and processing prepayments, accruals, and standard charges.
* Balance sheet reconciliation.
* Overseeing and assisting in bank account reconciliations.
* Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts and tax packs, ensuring year-end schedules are completed monthly.
* Reconciling PSA to ensure correct calculation and submissions to HMRC.
* Monthly reconciliation of inter-company accounts with other group companies.
* Quarterly VAT return preparation.
* Processing intercompany journals.
* Replenishing and reconciling petty cash.
* Administering and reconciling fixed asset control accounts and producing related reports for management.
* Managing capital approval processes, ensuring compliance with policies.
What skills are we looking for?
* Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
* Proficient in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs and PivotTables).
* Experience in an Assistant Accountant role or similar.
