Dormer & Co. Chartered Architects is seeking a passionate, articulate and enthusiastic Architect to join our team. Based in the heart of beautiful North Yorkshire, our design lead studio provides our clients with bespoke designs in the residential and heritage sectors. The team prides itself in offering a very personal service and we value the long term relationships that we develop with our clients.
The role offers opportunities to grow within the Practice, with the potential for career progression to Director level.
We are seeking someone with the following qualities:
• A creative flair and passion for design excellence
• A proactive and professional ‘can-do’ attitude, with the ambition to develop their talents within our team
• An aptitude for communicating with clients, design professionals and contractors fluently and confidently
• The ability to see projects through from inception to completion
• Strong design and technical ability through all RIBA work stages
• Skills in producing drawn and written information from feasibility through sketch design and planning to technical information for tendering and construction
• Attentive project running skills with the aim of ensuring integrity of design intent through to the finished build
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
• All round knowledge of UK regulatory requirements, including, Planning, Listed Buildings, Building Regulations, CDM etc.
• A minimum of 3 years post Part III experience
• The ability to work concurrently on multiple projects both collaboratively and in a self-initiated manner across all RIBA work stages
• Experience of working in rural areas advantageous
• Car driver is essential as many of our projects are located in more rural areas
• To mentor and support junior team members

• 35 hr working week with potential for flexible structure
